We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with AR.IO to support their efforts to decentralize access to the Permaweb.

Why is this important?

Arweave is to data, what Bitcoin is to value.

Immutable and censorship-resistant data storage anyone can use for any purpose, from preserving the world's most essential information to building truly decentralized web applications.

AR.IO provides open-source tools to run your own Arweave gateway and manages the incentivization behind it to ensure anyone can contribute to a decentralized version of the web.

We believe such technology is vital for the crypto ecosystem in general and developers specifically as it enables the creation of full-stack DApps that are indefinitely accessible to everyone.

What do we have in store?

To kick things off, we’re hosting an X space with AR.IO this week to discuss their protocol, followed by a bounty contest rewarding content creators for sharing the AR.IO message.

Over the next few months, we will work with the AR.IO team to create a comprehensive course that will teach you how to interact with data on Arweave, how to build full-stack DApps with the help of AR.IO gateways, and how to run your own gateway. As this technology is composable, you can apply the skills you learn whenever you need a GUI for your next project.

With AR.IO, we’ll offer incentives during the course for completing lessons and contributing to the ecosystem.

Lastly, we’re excited to announce that Developer DAO will soon launch its own AR.IO gateway to become an active contributor to the Arweave ecosystem.

As mentioned, we’re kicking off an X Space with the AR.IO Founder and CEO this week, so join us to learn more, ask questions, and get the alpha on our first bounty program.

We encourage you to follow AR.IO’s X account, join their Discord, and dig into their docs. The team and community are fantastic, and given that they’re open-source, nothing will stop you from contributing immediately.

Developer DAO members have a long history of contributing to the Arweave ecosystem and AR.IO. Our course author, K, is an AR.IO testnet OG who runs a top-ten gateway and has landed multiple PRs for the project.
